DUI driver causes Warwick crash that critically injures motorcyclist 

WARWICK, RI – A 45-year-old woman was arrested and charged with DUI after causing a crash that put a motorcyclist in critical condition Saturday. 

This collision happened before 9:45 p.m. on West Shore Road, according to Turnto10. First responders said the motorcyclist suffered a traumatic head injury and was bleeding after getting hit. An ambulance took the motorcyclist, a 43-year-old Warwick man, to Rhode Island Hospital, where he is recovering. 

Warwick Police said the 45-year-old woman had fled the scene after she crashed her SUV into the motorcycle. They identified her as Carrie Lyn White from Johnston. 

Not only was Johnston charged with DUI that resulted in “bodily injury, duty to stop, resulting in serious injury, driving to endanger, resulting in serious bodily injury and DUI, .15 or greater.” 

Officers have not publicly identified the motorcyclist at this time.
