WARREN, RI – A driver sustained injuries Monday morning in a single-vehicle collision along a major roadway in Bristol County, reports WPRI News 12.
The accident occurred shortly before 5 a.m. on Metacom Avenue near Ridgeway Drive in Warren, about 14 miles southeast of Providence.
Police say that the driver of a van fell asleep before leaving the roadway and hitting a utility pole.
Medics transported the driver to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
There were no passengers in the car at the time of the crash.
A full investigation is underway.
