Fire sparked at Stoughton gas station in triple-injury collision

STOUGHTON, MA – Injuries have been reported in connection to a multi-vehicle crash that happened near a gas station in Norfolk County on Wednesday, reports WHDH 7 News Boston.

Sometime around 6 a.m., emergency teams were called to a fiery accident involving three vehicles in the 100 block of Sharon Street in Stoughton. This is about 31 miles northeast of Providence, Rhode Island.

While the cause of the collision hasn’t yet been established, police say that the impact of the initial crash caused one of the cars to collide hit a gas pump at a station on Sharon Road.

The gas pump ignited, initiating the gas station’s fire suppression system.

Three of the five people involved in the accident required hospitalization for non-critical injuries.

Motorists likely faced delays along Sharon Road Wednesday morning while crews responded to the scene.

A full investigation is underway.
