PROVIDENCE, RI – A 47-year-old man sustained serious injuries this past Friday in a Vespa crash on the northwest side of Providence, reports 10 WJAR.
The accident happened near Smith and Meridian Streets near Providence College in the Elmhurst area.
Police say that Dino Dino DiFante, who was later identified as the general manager at Trattoria Appia, lost control of his Vespa and crashed while attempting to avoid a collision with another vehicle. DiFante landed in the roadway.
Medics transported the victim to an area hospital where he remains in a medically-induced coma for life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
