Police arrest woman for fatal hit-and-run crash near Mt Hope

PROVIDENCE, RI – The Providence Police Department has arrested a woman for a fatal crash that happened on N Main Street near Rochambeau Ave on Dec. 31, 2023, according to WJAR.

Ariel Acosta, 31, was driving when she allegedly struck Edwin English, 57, around 7:45 p.m.

Rescue crews transported English to an area hospital. He died there on Jan. 9.

Authorities have charged Acosta with Hit and Run, Death Resulting.
