PAWTUCKET, RI – The Pawtucket Police Department is investigating the details behind two separate crashes that injured one of its own officers on Sunday.
The first crash happened before 11 p.m. on Lloyd Street, WJAR10News said. This was a rollover collision that entrapped the driver, who was fortunate enough to conduct self-extrication and did not need the aid of fire crews.
The second collision happened in the area of Cedar Street and George Street. A Pawtucket police officer was en route to the scene of the first crash on Lloyd Street when he became involved in another crash.
The other driver involved in the second crash was injured, while the officer and driver in the rollover collision were uninjured.
The injured motorist was sent to the hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The first driver was not cited.
