PROVIDENCE, RI – A person had suffered fatal injuries after they were hit by a Providence Line Train 803 along Harris Avenue Thursday, WJAR 10 reports.
Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority, Providence police, and Providence fire crews responded to the scene. Authorities confirmed the train departed from Boston at 6:30 a.m. Immediately after the collision, the route came to an end, and officials summoned RIPTA bus personnel to take all passengers to their final destination. Just before 10 a.m., law enforcement removed the victim’s body from the scene.
Officials have not confirmed the events that led to the crash or released the victim’s name.
