7, including Providence PD officer, hurt in chain-reaction crash 

PROVIDENCE, RI – Seven people, including a Providence police officer, were hurt in a chain-reaction crash on Friday.
Police told WJARNews 10 that the incident happened at Thurbers and Prairie Avenues. The Providence police officer was en route to a service call when they were struck by another vehicle, resulting in a chain-reaction crash with two other vehicles.
EMS crews rushed six people and the Providence police officer to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The police officer has since been released from the hospital.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
