PROVIDENCE, RI – HAZMAT crews in downtown Providence were called to the scene of a crash on I-95 Thursday evening.
According to Rhode Island DoT, the crash took place at about 5:43 p.m. in the northbound lanes of the interstate near Exit 22 to downtown and US-6.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are unclear at this time. However, traffic was delayed in the area for some time afterward while HAZMAT crews worked to clear the scene.
