PROVIDENCE, RI ā A moving fire truck engine slid on a snow-covered hill and struck a male firefighter, resulting in a pin-in crash that sent him to a hospital Saturday.
According to WJAR News 10, the male firefighter was behind the fire truck when the vehicle drifted on the slick road on Ames Street and hit the man. As a result, the male fighter was pinned between the fire truck and a parked car.
Fire crews used a low-pressure airbag to extricate the male fighter before transporting him to the medical facility. He was treated for minor wounds and later released from the hospital.
No occupant seemed to be inside the parked car at the time of the crash.
