MIDDLETOWN, RI – According to WJAR, officials have released the name of the woman who died in an auto vs. electric bicycle collision at Admiral Kalbfus Rd and Hillside Ave on Wednesday.
James Drape, 53, was driving a Ford F-800 bucket truck when he stopped to make a left turn and collided with Kayla Watson, 34, around 7:50 a.m.
Rescue crews transported Watson to an area hospital, where she died.
Authorities cited Drape for obedience to devices and due care by drivers. An investigation is being conducted by the Rhode Island Attorney General’s Office to determine if criminal charges are possible.
