Child uninjured when bus hits bike at Cassidy Ln, Region Dr

MEDWAY, MA – A child escaped physical harm Tuesday when a school bus struck them at a crosswalk in western Norfolk County, reports WCVB 5.

Around 8 a.m., emergency crews responded to an auto-pedestrian crash at the intersection of Cassidy Lane and Legion Avenue in Medway, which is about 32 miles north of Providence, Rhode Island.

Police say that a school bus carrying students struck a child on their bicycle. The bicycle was damaged, but the child did not require medical attention.

Authorities arrested the 69-year-old driver of the bus after an verbal conflict involving the driver, the Memorial School Principal, and a police officer.

The driver faces charges that include a crosswalk violation and disorderly conduct.

The investigation is ongoing.
