MANSFIELD, MA – One person went to the hospital Sunday in a head-on collision along the interstate in north-central Bristol County, reports WPRI 12.
Early in the morning, emergency crews responded to a wrong-way accident on I-495 in Mansfield, which is about 22 miles northeast of Providence and 32 miles southwest of Boston.
Police say that for unknown reasons, a northbound vehicle entered the southbound side of the interstate and collided head-on with a southbound vehicle.
Medics transported one driver to a Boston hospital with serious injuries.
It’s unclear if anyone in the other vehicle was hurt.
A full investigation is underway.
