JOHNSTON, RI – A driver struck the back of a Rhode Island State Police car on Route 6, leading the trooper to suffer minor wounds Wednesday, Turnto10 said.
At around 4 a.m., the officer was responding to an initial collision and had his hazard lights on. The motorist had, for reasons unclear, lost control of his vehicle, resulting in him hitting the trooper’s car while the officer was still inside.
First responders rushed the officer to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment. Officials did not mention if snowy and icy road conditions played a part in this crash.
The other motorist was cited for failing to move over.
