HOPKINTON, MA – A semi-truck fatally struck a Connecticut man Monday night along the turnpike in southwest Middlesex County, reports NBC 10 Boston.
Around 11:15 p.m., emergency crews responded to a major accident along the Massachusetts Turnpike, or I-90, in Hopkinton. Officials have not provided a mile marker or cross street for the crash.
Police say that 35-year-old Patrick Sarpong stopped his vehicle along the side of the turnpike during a snowstorm. The victim was clearing snow from his car when an 18-wheeler hit him.
Sarpong died at the scene.
It’s unclear if the truck driver will face charges in connection to the crash.
A full investigation is underway.
