EXETER, RI – A driver sustained injuries and was taken to a hospital after crashing their car into a wooded area off I-95 near the RI-165 overpass Thursday.
The Exeter No. 2 Volunteer Fire Department responded to the collision site before 7:30 p.m., Turnto10 reports. Once the car landed in the wooded area, it appears the vehicle made contact with a long tree branch, which seemed to plow right through the car’s windshield. Aside from a shattered windshield, significant damage was done to the car’s front bumper.
The driver was able to get out of the vehicle and was seen conversing with Rhode Island State Police prior to being transported to an area medical facility.
At this time, police did not state the reason behind why the car driver drifted off the road.
