Update: Woman dies after crash with extrication in East Greenwich 

EAST GREENWICH, RI – A person who was extricated from their vehicle after a single-vehicle crash on Tuesday has since died. 

According to new information from WJAR News 10, East Greenwich police have identified the person as 72-year-old Loreen Corona from Warwick, a postal office employee at the East Greenwich post office. 

Corona was driving a black SUV on Frenchtown Road when she drifted out of her lane and crashed into a guardrail. Police initially said she struck a pole. 

First responders arrived at the scene around 1 p.m. and transported Corona to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment of a leg injury. There, she later died from internal injuries. 

Police are continuing to investigate all details leading to this single-vehicle crash.
