Minor injuries, arrests reported after shooting-turned-crash in Cranston

CRANSTON, RI – A man and woman were arrested, and minor injuries were reported following a shooting-turned-crash incident that happened on Monday.

WPRI said the events unraveled after 5 a.m., when one person opened fire at a black GMC in the area of Woodbury Road near Broad Street. Police saw the GMC and tried to conduct a traffic stop. The driver of the GMC did not pull over, which prompted a chase that eventually came to an end when the vehicle crashed on Adelaide Avenue.

Police confirmed no one sustained minor injuries as a result of the shooting, but rather from the crash.

The man and woman remain in police custody. No specific charges have been announced at this time.
