ATTLEBORO, MA – A 30-year-old man driving a Quality Food Co. box truck crashed into a low clearance bridge, causing the truck’s roof to completely tear apart Thursday.
The collision took place before 9 am along Forest Street and Willard Road, according to WJAR News Channel 10. The truck was 13 feet tall, while the bridge was marked 11 feet and 6 inches tall. The driver, Anthony Paulino from Providence, attempted to proceed through the bridge but was unsuccessful and “was cited for negligent operation of a motor vehicle” by local police.
Despite the nature of the wreck, Paulino was spared from injuries, and the structural integrity of the bridge appears to have been compromised.
