PROVIDENCE, RI – Two people were hospitalized Friday night following a three-vehicle collision that happened in the southbound lanes of I-95 near Branch Avenue.
WJAR reports that the crash happened shortly before 10:50 p.m. on August 7, when one car struck a second vehicle, then caromed into a guardrail before overturning. It is unclear how the third vehicle became involved in the wreck.
Authorities say that one person was seriously injured and a second suffered minor injuries.
The crash led to a brief shutdown in the area as crews investigated and then cleared the scene.
