COTUIT, MA – Multiple people were hurt Friday night in a two-vehicle crash at a busy intersection in southwest Barnstable County, reports WCVB 5.
Shortly after 8:30 p.m., emergency crews responded to an injury accident at Santuit-Newtown Road and Falmouth Road, or Route 28, in Cotuit. This is about four miles southeast of Mashpee.
It’s not yet clear what caused two vehicles to collide along Route 28. One of the vehicles, police say, rolled upon impact.
Five people required hospitalization for unspecified injuries. At least one of the victims sustained life-threatening injuries.
Motorists likely faced traffic delays in the area of Santuit-Newtown Road and Falmouth Road while crews worked at the scene.
