WEST WARWICK, RI – A teenager who was injured in a head-on crash last month near West Warwick passed away Thursday evening.
The 17-year-old young man had been in critical condition at Rhode Island Hospital since the February collision that happened in Exeter, reports WPRI.
One other teen was also injured but has since recovered.
Alexander Krajewski, 30, of North Kingstown was driving under the influence on Ten Rod Road when he crashed into the teens’ car head-on.
The two teenage seniors at West Warwick High School were on their way to a hockey rink.
Krajewski who is also a Newport firefighter was arrested on charges including driving to endanger resulting in personal injury and DUI of intoxicating liquor or drugs resulting in serious bodily injury.
He has since been released on bail and is on paid leave.
