WARWICK, RI – A crash on I-95 Wednesday after noon sent five people to the hospital.
WPRI reports that the accident occurred close to 1 a.m. when a vehicle veered off the highway and struck another vehicle as it reentered traffic. Both vehicles rolled over in the accident.
One of the injured was identified as the driver of one of the vehicles, who sustained serious injuries. The second vehicle’s four occupants were treated for minor injuries.
Police suspect that excessive speed played a role in the incident.
