EASTON, MA – A construction worker died while working on a demolition project in downtown Boston on Saturday.
According to WJAR, Peter Monsini, 51, of South Easton was killed as he was working to demolish a parking garage near Congress Street and Court Street. He was working for J. Derenzo Companies in the project to make room for a new skyscraper.
Monsini was operating a machine equipped with a jackhammer to break up concrete when the floor below him collapsed. He fell nine stories to the ground.
Authorities are investigating the fatal accident at this time.
