PROVIDENCE, RI – Another man faces charges after his involvement in a crash that occurred during the Feast of St. Joseph on Saturday, June 6.
Police told WJAR News that a 36-year-old man, identified as Robert Maggiacomo from Cumberland, faces two felony charges after he threw a trash can at a motorcyclist during the festival.
The motorcyclist, identified as 19-year-old Michael Carnevale, had allegedly ignored the roadblocks in place for the festival and had weaved in and out of traffic when he was struck by a trash can thrown by Maggiacomo.
Carnavale then crashed into an outdoor tent and struck a 46-year-old man identified as Christopher Woodley.
Woodley and Carnavale were both sent to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment. There, Woodley received care for several broken ribs, a dislocated shoulder, and a gash, and Carnavle was treated for minor injuries.
Carnavale was charged with reckless driving and operating a motorcycle without a valid driver’s license, insurance, or registration.
