Car slams into Providence home, forcing out 11 adults, 2 kids

PROVIDENCE, RI – A driver of a car struck a home’s electric meter, causing a fire that left five families, 11 adults, and two children, no choice but to evacuate and find temporary shelter.

This solo crash took place on Putnam Street Tuesday afternoon, ABC6 reports. Fire crews were able to cast out the fire quickly and reported no injuries.

The American Red Cross in Rhode Island is working individually with the affected families with regard to short-term housing.
