DARTMOUTH, MA – A Jeep Cherokee struck a tree off I-195 in Dartmouth late Sunday evening, killing one and injuring two others, according to the Massachusetts State Police.
Investigators say that the vehicle was headed west on I-195 when it suddenly left the roadway and crossed into the median, where it collided with a tree.
Responders pronounced a woman dead at the scene. She has been identified as 63-year-old New Bedford resident Eleanor Estrella
The Jeep’s driver, a 25-year-old woman also from New Bedford, is in critical condition. A second passenger, a 17-year-old girl from New Bedford, sustained less severe injuries. Both were taken to St. Luke’s Hospital.
Investigations into the crash are ongoing.
