CRANSTON, RI – Motorists faced long delays Monday afternoon on Interstate 295 near Cranston following a collision that appeared to involve a big rig, according to WPRI.
The accident occurred on the northbound lanes at Exit 3A to State Highway 37 (Lincoln Avenue Freeway).
Details remain limited at this time, but a photo taken by a passerby and sent to 12 News suggests a passenger car and a tractor-trailer collided.
The Rhode Island Department of Transportation indicated that scene had the right travel lane was shut down. Traffic in the area was slow-moving as emergency crews responded.
