CRANSTON, RI – Two drivers had to go to Rhode Island Hospital as a result of a two-truck collision on Plainfield Pike on Thursday, WJAR10News said.
The incident unfolded around 11:30 a.m. when a trash truck experienced a mechanical issue and veered from the northbound lane into the southbound lane and into the path of a tow truck.
The tow truck driver swerved to try to avoid a crash, but was unable to do so. The trash truck crashed into the driver’s side of the tow truck before spinning 180 degrees. The trash truck continued north before coming into an adjacent parking lot and overturning.
The two trucks sustained extensive damage, and the two truck drivers were left with minor injuries.
