HOPKINTON, MA – A Westerly woman died and three others were injured in a crash that happened in Hopkinton last Sunday.
According to The Providence Journal, two vehicles collided head-on around 2:30 p.m. on Spring Street.
An 88-year-old woman, Elisabeth Thayer from Westerly, was a passenger in a Jeep driven by her daughter Alexandrea Martino, 57.
Thayer died at the scene, while her daughter was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for internal injuries.
A Chevrolet Tahoe traveling in the opposite direction had two occupants that were injured.
Hope Valley resident Kevin Brown, 34, was driving when the cars collided and sustained injuries to his arm, hand, and ribs. He was taken to Rhode Island Hospital to be treated.
A passenger in the Chevrolet, a 35-year-old Richmond resident was taken to Kent Hospital with minor injuries.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
