DARTMOUTH, MA – A 74-year-old woman riding a bicycle died after she was struck by a trash truck on Route 6 in Dartmouth on Monday.
The Bristol County District Attorney’s Office told WJAR10News that police pulled up to the scene before noon. Officers determined that the driver of the trash truck, who was found on the side of the road, had collided with the cyclist, who succumbed to her injuries at the scene.
The truck driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
Authorities have not released the victim’s name.
On a similar note, a two-sedan crash, which also happened on Route 6 in the Dartmouth and Westport area on Friday, claimed the life of a 34-year-old man from Acushnet and a 51-year-old woman from New Bedford.

Police have not reported any citations or charges and are continuing to determine the cause of the crash.
