FALL RIVER, MA – A state trooper required hospitalization following a collision in western Bristol County last Friday, reports WCVB 5.
The accident occurred around 2 p.m. on MA-79, or the Western Fall River Expressway, near North Main Street on the north side of Fall River.
Officials say that an 18-wheeler crashed into the rear of a police cruiser that was parked at the scene of an earlier collision.
Medics transported a trooper inside the cruiser to an area hospital with injuries of unknown severity.
No other injuries have been reported in connection to the accident, and it’s unclear if the big rig driver will face charges.
A full investigation is underway.
