SPRINGFIELD, MA – Police are investigating an accident that left one man injured Thursday night on the east side of Springfield, reports Western Mass News.
Around 9 p.m., emergency crews responded to the area of Allen Street and Bicentennial Highway, which is just north of Bicentennial Plaza and southeast of Springfield College.
The investigation indicates that that a man was walking outside of a designated crosswalk on Allen Street when a vehicle struck him.
The victim went to the hospital with serious injuries. He is expected to survive.
The driver stopped to render aid and to speak with authorities.
The investigation is ongoing.
