EAST GREENWICH, RI – One person was entrapped in their vehicle and extricated following a single-vehicle collision Tuesday, WJAR News 10 reports.
The driver of a black SUV was traveling on Frenchtown Road when they drifted out of their lane and crashed into a pole, leaving the vehicle with significant damage. East Greenwich fire crews arrived at the scene around 1 p.m. and completed the extrication. Ambulance personnel transported the person to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
Officials are working to determine why the driver lost control of their vehicle.
