JOHNSTON, RI – Traffic on southbound I-295 was backed up this morning due to a rollover accident that happened near Johnston, ABC6 reports.

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation announced the accident on X, formerly known a Twitter, at 8:20 a.m. RDOT said the right lane and right shoulder were blocked near Exit 7 to Rhode Island Resource Recovery Industrial Park. However, traffic camera footage showed major backups across all southbound lanes of the highway.
