WARWICK, RI – The driver in a single-vehicle crash in Warwick on Saturday morning that injured one of the passengers is facing multiple charges, including felony DUI.
ABC 6 reports that the accident took place close to 8 a.m. at the intersection of Warwick and Killey Avenues when a vehicle driven by 33-year-old Filipe Barros of Pawtucket crashed into a utility pole following some erratic driving.
One passenger, 27-year-old Cranston resident Yasmibel Lora Pena, was ejected from the rear seat of the vehicle.
Pena was hospitalized at Rhode Island Hospital. The severity of her injuries is unknown.
Neither Barros nor the second passenger in the vehicle were reportedly injured.
Police have charged Barros with multiple charges including driving under the influence and refusal to submit for a field chemical test.
