One diner killed, one injured after being struck by car at clam shack on Warwick Avenue

WARWICK, RI – A car crashed through multiple picnic tables at a restaurant in Warwick on Friday, killing one person and injuring another, NBC10 reports.

At approximately 2 p.m., police responded to a report of a collision on Warwick Avenue that a vehicle had struck two diners at Tommy’s World Famous Clam Shack.

The victims, 66-year-old Susan Hjerpe and her husband Carl Hjerpe, were taken to Rhode Island Hospital. Susan was later pronounced dead from the injuries sustained.

Carl is reportedly in stable condition.

This incident is still under investigation.
