Driver in stolen vehicle injures self and 1 other in crash

NORTH KINGSTOWN, RI – A woman in a stolen vehicle crashed into another causing injuries in North Kingstown Monday morning.

According to WJAR, the Newport woman, 34-year-old Nicole Pacheco stole a car in Newport where police began to pursue her.

She crashed into another vehicle on Tower Hill Road and tried to flee the scene on foot.

Police were able to catch her and charge her with possession of a stolen vehicle, reckless driving, driving to endanger resulting in physical injury, alluding an officer with a motor vehicle in a high-speed pursuit, resisting arrest, and driving with a suspended license

Pacheco and an occupant in the vehicle she crashed into were taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.
