WARWICK, RI – One man was killed and three people were injured in a three-vehicle crash that happened on the 770th block of Post Road Saturday.
WJAR News 10 said the events unraveled around 2 p.m. when a 61-year-old man veered out of his northbound lane and into the opposite direction of traffic and crashed head-on into a second vehicle. The force of the initial collision then caused the second vehicle to slam into a third vehicle.
Warwick EMS crews transported all three drivers and one passenger from the third vehicle to Rhode Island Hospital. There, the driver of the first vehicle died. He was identified as a 61-year-old Michael Perry from Cranston.
The surviving drivers were identified as 24-year-old Joseph Kemley, driver of the third vehicle, and 32-year-old Jessel Guzman Luna, driver of the second vehicle.
First responders did not specify what physical condition Guzman Luna, Kemley, and Kemley’s passenger were left in.
Warwick police have not completed their investigation. However, at this time, they suspect that Perry may have suffered a medical episode, which caused him to lose control of his car and crash into Guzman Luna.
