TAUNTON, MA – A 44-year-old woman, a Taunton local, died as a result of a multi-vehicle crash on Winthrop Street, according to WCVB.
The crash occurred around 10 a.m. on Monday on the 595th block. The events leading up to the collision remain unclear, although the impact of the crash left damage to a BMW’s driver’s side and a Kia SUV with significant rear-end damage.
A semi-truck trailer and two other vehicles were also damaged. Officials said a 44-year-old woman, identified as Ivonne Caicedo Gallego, died from her injuries at the scene.
The Kia driver and his passenger, a woman, were taken to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Police are continuing to investigate the details behind the crash.
