3 hospitalized following crash-shooting in TauntonĀ

TAUNTON, MA – Three people had to go to the hospital after a crash-shooting that happened in Taunton on Sunday, WJAR10News said.

The incident occurred before 11:30 p.m. Police believe someone opened fire on a driver, which caused them to lose control of their car and crash into a fire hydrant on Adams Street.

The fire hydrant became dislodged, causing water to spill out and flood the road.

First responders rushed three people to the emergency room for treatment of unspecified injuries.

Officials also said a 19-year-old man and a 16-year-old male juvenile suffered gunshot wounds, but did not confirm whether they were among those taken to the emergency room.

Several homes were also shot at. Fortunately, no home occupants were injured, police say.

Police said another 16-year-old male was involved in the shooting and also had an active warrant out for his arrest in connection with another shooting that happened in January 2026. Officers have since placed him into custody.

Police are working to determine the events leading up to the shooting and crash.
