SEEKONK, MA ā A pickup truck driver crashed into an I-195 East barrier, causing the vehicle to catch fire and injuring the motorist Tuesday.Ā
Massachusetts State Police told WPRI that officers arrived at the scene after 4:30 p.m.Ā
Upon arrival, the Massachusetts State Department of Transportation shut down a left lane near Anthony Street so firefighters could put out the fire and so DOT crews could work to clear debris from the wreck. Amid this closure, officials told drivers to take Highway 6 as an alternative route.Ā
The pickup truck driver, who was not publicly identified, is recovering from serious wounds.Ā
