EAST PROVIDENCE, RI – A driver has been charged with multiple felonies regarding a wrong-way collision that injured six people on May 24, 2022, according to WJAR.
Cary Guy, 30, was fleeing from police in Rehoboth on MA 118 when he attempted to collide with the patrol vehicle pursuing him.
The pursuit continued onto westbound I-195. Guy crossed into the eastbound lanes and collided with oncoming traffic.
Rescue crews transported six people to an area hospital following the collision.
Authorities charged Guy with four counts of driving to endanger resulting in serious bodily injury, four counts of DUI resulting in serious bodily injury, two counts of drug possession, two counts of driving to endanger resulting in physical injury, and one count of reckless driving.
Guy’s next court date will be on May 11.
