Providence man charged in relation to fatal accident

34-year-old Johnny Sak, of 35 Union Avenue, Rhode Island, was indicted on Monday, July 11 before Providence Superior Court Magistrate John McBurney III in relation to a fatal vehicular accident that happened last year, killing a young woman.

Sak had been driving a vehicle along the 1600 block of Mendon Road on Dec. 8, 2015, when the car he had been driving crashed into a utility pole, causing the death of a passenger, 22-year-old Woonsocket resident Alexandra Patten Parenteau.

Sak was indicted by a Providence County grand jury on charges of one count of driving under the influence death resulting; one count of driving to endanger death resulting; two counts of driving under the influence resulting in serious bodily injury; two counts of driving to endanger resulting in serious bodily injury; one count of driving to endanger resulting in bodily injury; one count of possession of cocaine; and one count of operating a motorized vehicle without a license.
