PROVIDENCE, RI – A man suffered severe injuries in a hit-and-run late Friday night on Randall Street in Providence, reports NBC 10 News.
Police say they responded to the scene near 50 Randall Street at about 11:34 p.m. following reports of an auto-pedestrian collision. When officers located the victim at the scene, he was alert, but his injuries kept him from communicating.
A bystander informed officials that they had heard a loud impact. The witness then saw multiple people rush in to help the injured man in the street. Reports indicate that the driver left before officers reached the area.
Emergency crews took the man to Rhode Island Hospital for treatment. Authorities say he remains in critical condition.
