NORTH PROVIDENCE, RI – Officers arrested a man after he crashed his vehicle into a utility pole in North Providence Monday Night.
Keith Walsh, 52, was the driver in a single-vehicle crash on Woonasquatucket Avenue, reports WJAR.
Emergency crews found the vehicle wrapped around a utility pole with Walsh standing in the roadway. He notified crews that another man, 41-year-old Frank Ward, was trapped in the crashed vehicle.
Crews freed the man using hydraulic tools. He was then transported to a hospital with serious injuries to his lower body.
Walsh suffered minor injuries to his arm. Police detected alcohol on his breath and asked him to perform field sobriety tests.
After failing, police arrested Walsh and charged him with DUI, resulting in serious bodily injury and driving to endanger, resulting in personal injuries
