CRANSTON, RI – Authorities have arrested a man they say caused an accident that injured a 4-year-old child near Farmington Ave and Dyer Ave on Wednesday, according to WJAR.
Jose Morales, 37, was allegedly impaired while he was driving a Mustang convertible with the top down at excessive speeds on eastbound Farmington Ave when he ran a stop sign and collided with a Chevy Silverado that was heading north on Dyer Ave around 8:40 p.m.
The collision caused the Mustang to spin around and sent the pickup truck into someone’s driveway.
Morales had a 4-year-old boy in a booster seat in the back seat of the Mustang. Rescue crews transported the child to an area hospital with serious injuries.
First responders also took both drivers and a passenger in the pickup truck to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Authorities charged Morales with DUI resulting in serious bodily injury and DUI with a passenger under 13.
