PROVIDENCE, RI – Motorists faced delays Saturday afternoon, July 13, following a collision on Interstate 95, north of downtown Providence, reports ABC 6.
The wreck occurred on the stretch of I-95 that runs under the Smith Street bridge, in the city’s Smith Hill neighborhood. It was first reported by ABC6 at 3:32 p.m.
Local agencies have not publicly shared any information regarding the circumstances of the event, but photos captured by Rhode Island Department of Transportation cameras showed several fire engines responding to the scene. At least one lane was blocked as a result, creating delays.
It was not immediately apparent whether anyone was seriously hurt and/or had to be hospitalized. No charges or citations have been reported.
