PROVIDENCE, RI – A man faced charges, and a woman sustained injuries this past Sunday when a vehicle crashed into a restaurant in Providence.
According to WPRI 12, the accident happened shortly before midnight at Y Shabu Shabu in the 300 block of West Fountain Street, near Planet Fitness and Alpine Auto Body.
Police say that 43-year-old Juan Rodriguez was drunk and speeding when he lost control of his SUV and crashed into the local eatery.
Medics transported a female passenger from the SUV to an area hospital with unspecified injuries.
Authorities arrested Rodriguez on multiple charges, including DUI, failure to heed a stop sign, and reckless driving.
No other injuries have been reported in connection to the accident.
