CRANSTON, RI – A driver collided with a 13-year-old boy near Phenix Ave and Atwood Ave on Friday, according to WJAR.
A truck driver was heading south on Phenix when they hit the boy as he was crossing the street outside a marked crosswalk around 5 p.m.
Rescue crews transported the boy to an area hospital with serious injuries.
Following the collision, the driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the police.
Authorities do not believe speed was a factor in the collision.
